Hi everyone! In the world of fast-paced PR, it's crucial to catch a trend while it's hot. If a newsworthy topic breaks in the morning, we literally have a couple of hours to publish our content and get automatically distributed to mobile users. How can we automate monitoring of such spikes? How do you practically spot emerging viral topics in recommendation engines before everyone else writes about them?

In recommendations, the first one to do so wins. If a news story has already been shared by all the major media outlets, trying to repost the same piece three hours later is pointless - the algorithm has already selected the original sources. Constant automated monitoring is needed to intercept emerging topics within minutes of their appearance.

In fast-paced PR, speed is everything, and manual monitoring is useless. We've implemented the Google Discover Trends analytics system https://d2tr.com/ to identify breaking news stories within minutes of their release. The platform instantly registers sharp spikes in impressions on new topics. This allows us to quickly prepare content and be among the first to automatically distribute traffic to mobile devices, ahead of major news aggregators.

I think the key is combining several monitoring sources instead of relying on a single platform. I usually keep an eye on Google Trends, trending topics on major social networks, Reddit communities in my niche, and Google News alerts. It's also helpful to set up keyword monitoring with tools that notify you when mentions suddenly spike. The real advantage comes from having a simple workflow that alerts you automatically, so you can validate the topic and publish within minutes rather than hours. Speed matters, but choosing topics that genuinely fit your audience is just as important for getting long-ter
